  1. In 1983, there were 50 separate companies that shared control of American media. Now, ONLY SIX CORPORATIONS control 90% of American Media. Those 6 are: Comcast, Disney, AT&T, Fox, CBS, and Paramount.

  2. The New York Times took in more than $20 million from fossil fuel advertisers from October 2020 to October 2023. This is double what similar outlets received. At the same time, the NY Times was publishing Pulitzer-winning climate journalism. Reporters at the paper said that it felt “gross” and “undermining.”

  3. In a span of just a few weeks, CNN aired five times as much oil industry advertising (23.5 minutes) as climate change coverage (five minutes).
