Trump’s lies vs. the last four weeks of extreme weather reality.

Last week, in a massive giveaway to Big Oil companies that will cost Americans TRILLIONS of dollars in higher fuel costs and health + climate damage, Trump’s EPA repealed it’s own rules limiting heat-trapping carbon pollution from burning fossil fuels.

The speech was full of lies about the danger of the fossil fuel industry’s carbon pollution, and the massive costs we pay as it damages our health, food availability, homes, infrastructure, and the livability of our communities.

But one part was true: Congress has never passed a law limiting carbon pollution, or explicitly added this pollutant to the Clean Air Act’s mandate to protect public health. Health and environmental groups have filed suit, and ultimately the courts (full of Trump appointees) will decide on the legality of Trump’s repeal of the endangerment finding and the carbon pollution rules it underpins. But until congress acts, Trump is free to try to sell us out to his Big Oil owners with just the stroke of a pen.
